Depression - What is it?

I think everyone has a concept of what it is and everyone has experienced it to some degree or another in life. It has to do with your mind, doesn’t it? You don’t feel sparkly and invigorated about life and there is something in your mind that is stopping you and telling you that you don’t feel good and it is difficult to get on with it. Only the degrees vary in how intensely it affects one.

In the Thorndike Barnhart – World Book dictionary it is defined: “low spirits, sadness or gloominess” and psychology definition: “a mental disorder characterized by prolonged feelings of despair and dejection, often accompanied by fatigue, headaches and other physical symptoms.”

So we have its symptoms.

We have its cause.

And finally depression treatment which don't you think should address and parallel the mind in some way in a positive manner, not masking symptoms by the use of drugs and not negating the actual cause which is definite and specific to each individual.
