There are varying degrees or levels people take towards health and fitness. There are those that center their whole life and daily routine around this and will not indulge in anything that remotely would be “unhealthy”. There is the health benefit of exercise.

Then there are those who take no heed and it is coffee and cigarettes all day. Some of these happen to live to a ripe old age, my only question regarding them would be if they were as comfortable physically and mentally as they could have been during their years.

Knowing how a body can be beaten to hell being a former ski racer, there were broken bones, dislocated limbs, an assortment of discomforts which tightened the body over the years and made for a compensation in other areas leading to pains in the lower back.

Pilates in fact has a lot to do with physical therapy rehabilitation.
Anyone who has a body has to deal with this to a greater or lesser degree. My viewpoint has been to find those things that lead into better health and fitness that appear to work for me but don’t make me a slave to them.

Pilates has been one thing I have found that has enhanced the quality of physical and mental well being. After years of chronic intermittent lower back problems and pain, these are now a thing of the past through simple exercises correcting those areas and muscles that were pulling my back out of line and creating the pain. This coupled with swimming worked wonders.

With the polluted environment, fast acidic food of today and the many processed foods that are lacking in minerals and nutrients, degenerative diseases are becoming more and more frequent. People's internal system becomes acidic and it is that acidity that makes it possible for those diseases to grow. With an acidic body, food is not digested properly and the blood does not take in the oxygen necessary to metabolize and digest. Makes a colon cleanse needed.

It might be said that in an alkaline environment these diseases can’t survive. For both better personal health and fitness by alkalizing the body and also aiding in a cleaner healthier environment here are other solutions to health and fitness:
